Book Review: Dualed by Elsie Chapman

Dualed (Dualed, #1)

Summary: In the city of Kersh, everyone must eliminate their genetic Alternate twin, raised by another family, before their twentieth birthday. West Grayer, 15, has trained as a fighter, and has one month to hunt and kill her Alt. A tragic misstep shakes her confidence. Guilty, grieving, she feels unworthy, runs from her Alt and from love – both can destroy her.

My review:

warning circleWARNING: Violent content ahead. But of course it would have violence seeing as how the premise of the book is find your genetic twin and kill him before he kills you.

The first chapter hits you in the gut. There’s non-stop action and a love story, but the love story is subtle enough not to distract you from the premise. It’s a bleak world, but Elise Chapman has created characters you can care about.

4 out of 5 stars.
